Bolivia Climate

Bolivia climate is largely temperate yet the country experiences dramatic differences between daytime and night temperatures. These changes in temperatures are not only a direct result of each area’s elevation they are also not linked to any seasonal variations. Although the country lies entirely within tropical latitudes, Bolivia weather fluctuates widely between regions, with conditions in the lowlands veering towards tropical, becoming polar in the highest parts of the Andes and semi-tropical in the northeast slopes of the Andes.

Bolivia’s wettest season runs between November and May and in some extreme circumstances the extensive rainfall results in landslides in mountainous areas. Most parts of Bolivia receive the bulk of their annual precipitation during the Southern Hemisphere summer season, and as a general rule yearly amounts tend to decrease from north to south.Due to its high altitude La Plaz is renewed for its thin air that can become quite uncomfortable, especially to visitors. Temperatures in the mountain areas can drop significantly during the night.
